Portola Valley Holds Groundbreaking for Its New Town Center

Today I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new town center for the Town of Portola Valley (California,USA).  (See reference [1] below.)  Plans for new construction include city offices, city maintenance facilities, sports facilities, recreation areas and trails, a library, a community meeting room, and science and art rooms.

The plans call for achieving a rating of at least LEED gold.  People hope that, with further work, the project will achieve LEED platinum.

The chief architect, Larry Strain, knows Jerry Yudelson, with whom I developed the brochure “The ‘GIST’ of Campus Sustainability Planning: GAIN IMPACT. SAVE TIME.”  (See reference [2] below.)
